Getting rid of empty calories from your diet can help you lose a few pounds

What are empty calories?

These are calories that provide you no nutritional value. All you gain from eating these foods is fat and weight.

So if there are no vitamins, minerals, protein or fiber, those calories are not helping you in any way.

One large source of these empty calories is sugar. It comes in all types of flavors and in so many forms. Your body converts straight sugar into fat. Sugar also breaks down any vitamin B that may be in a product.

According to healthline.com:

Sugary drinks are the most fattening things you can put into your body.

This is because liquid sugar calories don’t get registered by the brain in the same way as calories from solid foods.

For this reason, when you drink soda, you end up eating more total calories.

Sugary drinks are strongly associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and all sorts of health problems.

Keep in mind that fruit juices are almost as bad as soda in this regard. They contain just as much sugar, and the small amounts of antioxidants do NOT negate the harmful effects of the sugar.

Be mindful of what types of sugar you are consuming. Some sugar substitutes are just as harmful.

Many people crave sugar throughout the day, especially just before lunch or just before dinner.

Try drinking water or having a protein based snack instead. Over time the sugar cravings will lessen as your body detoxes it out of your system.

You can speed up the detox process through using a detox. Modere has a gentle three day detox called activate that targets bacteria and parasites that also cause sugar cravings.

A detox is great to jump start your system by removing out the build up that is preventing you from absorbing nutrients and causing you to have hunger cravings.

You can shop the detox here.
